Open Letter

Greetings from Charlie, Coach at CrossFit Regeneration!

I would like to use this opportunity to officially invite you to come by the gym and sign up. We are located at 3250 Ruckriegel Pkwy. Louisville, KY 40299. I will be here from Tuesday, December 27th through Friday, December 30th from 8:00 am-8:00 pm enrolling new members, scheduling class times and finding out about your goals. So come by and get signed up!

Let me tell you why this is the right gym for you. Here are three reasons:

1) Price. Our memberships are probably a little different than what you’re used to with most gyms. When you join CrossFit Regeneration, your monthly membership fee will go towards more than just access to the facility. We will have multiple small-group classes spread throughout the day lead by qualified coaches who will take you through a unique workout tailored specifically to your abilities. This is essentially personal training in a group setting. So if you’re looking for a gym with personal training included in the membership fee, then you’ve found it. And for only $100/month, this is a very affordable price. And to help you get started, we are offering January through March for ½ price if you sign up before the end of January!

2) CrossFit. We are an official recognized affiliate for CrossFit. This means that we will be teaching you everything you wanted to know about functional fitness. Our classes will be focused on making you more able to successfully manage your daily tasks. Each of the exercises we do will have a corresponding real-world application, and will challenge your body to adjust and grow into a stronger, healthier and happier you.

3) Community. By being part of CrossFit Regeneration, you’re joining more than a gym; it’s more like being part of a club. We will have social gatherings and opportunities to get to know other members. You will be sweating along side each other in your classes, cheering for each other, and celebrating improvements. In short, we’re hoping that you will make friends with each other, and that we can help facilitate that!

There are many more reasons to join, but I’ll leave it at three for now. If you’re not sure whether this is for you or not; then at least come for the ½ price deal. You’ll have three months to make a fully informed decision. Who knows, you may discover something new about yourself. Classes begin January 2nd.

Let us make you better!

Charlie Sims, Coach at CrossFit Regeneration

How Do I Join?

I’m glad you asked!

You can view our schedule by following this link here.  Pick a time and email us at, call Charlie at 502-609-9996, or drop by our location at 3250 Ruckriegel Pkwy, 40299 and schedule a consultation.  Starting today, we will be taking sign-ups for all classes.  But, keep in mind that we will have a 12 person cap on all classes, and that we must have at least 4 people to have a class.

We will want to meet with you one-on-one before you get started just to walk through some business stuff (member agreement, waiver, payment…)  Once we have all of your information, then you’ll be ready to get rolling with your group.

More to come soon, as we approach our January 1st grand opening.  Remember that we are doing a deal for January through March for $150.  This is half off of our normal membership price and runs until the end of January.

Secrets of Personal Training #2

My last post revealed the need for a qualified personal trainer to help you get where you want to get in your physical goals.

This one will be a little different. As you may recall, I promised to reveal some secrets that most trainers donít want their clients to know. Today will be the first of those. I want to apologize to any trainers who lose clients because of thisÖ

I have a friend, weíll call him ìGoshî, who decided that he wanted to get himself into shape after spending the majority of his life not being very concerned with fitness. Gosh joined our workout group that met every Tuesday and Thursday morning for a generic and basic workout. After about a month, he decided to start jogging on a few of the other days of the week and pay a little closer attention to his nutrition. Six months later, with little-to-no specific attention from me, he is dramatically more fit and probably 30 pounds lighter. I joke with him that he has caught the ìfitness bugî. He loves it, and is doing great. He even fit exercise into his vacation to the beach!

Tip #2: More than half of my job is motivation. If you have that, you may not need me.

The Bible says ìWhere your treasure is, there your heart will be as well.î I suppose that people will invest cash into something hoping that their hearts will follow, and this is often the case, but sometimes thatís not necessary. Taking into account the reality from my previous post, that you probably donít know what youíre doing, and the reality that there is good and useful information out there, if a person is sufficiently self-motivated and well informed, they will do fine on their own.

Caveat: Everybody (100% of people) is highly motivated to get started when they decide that they want to achieve a health and fitness goal, as referenced by New Yearís resolutions that result in booming gym growth during the first week of January every year. BUT that is not what I am referring to when I say that a person is sufficiently self-motivated. I am talking about what happens after a month of work with no real noticeable results. True motivation endures.

So, if youíre a highly driven, well-informed individual, then youíll have no problem getting where you want to go, even without my help.
