I have personal items stashed at the gym. What do I do with them?
For the safety and security of your personal belongings, we kindly request that you clear out your cubby by the week's end and handle the relocation of your personal items personally. If any items remain in the cubbies after Saturday morning class, non-Regeneration owned items will be boxed and transported labeled as such. Yet, due to the complexity of the move and various logistics involved, we cannot guarantee the safety of your personal items during the transition.
What will the new facility set up be like?
Check out our announcement video
HERE for a visual tour of the space. Please note that the video doesn't fully capture the facility's length. Imagine removing the 90-degree bend between our small and large sides, creating a long, narrow space suitable for two classes at once.
Sub-leasing: We've been fortunate to house Life Church KY for years, benefiting from their contributions to our community and offsetting rising costs. As they require a larger space, we're moving alongside them, continuing our symbiotic relationship in reversed roles.
Rigging: We're exploring rigging options for member and classroom needs. Limited wall space means freestanding rigging. While it's an exciting concept, finalizing the design requires playing with the rigging pieces in the space.
Music: To resolve conflicting music, our new layout includes separate volume points. Both sides of the gym will access the same playlist with adjustable volumes for each class.
3rd Place: Our relaxation space, accessible through a designated path through the gym floor, prioritizes safety for Regeneration youth.
Bathrooms: Initially, accessing bathrooms in the shared building will require passing through the church sanctuary. Please respect their space as we work on a direct path from the gym floor.
Kitchen Access: Staff will have exclusive access to the shared kitchen due to building regulations. A mini fridge at the reception will replace member access. However, we'll still host events and cook for members using the shared kitchen.
Dogs: Unfortunately, pets won't be allowed in the facility anymore. While we'll miss our furry friends, we respect this new rule.
Why are we moving? And how will this move affect my membership costs?
In the spirit of complete transparency, our decision to move is primarily driven by the impact of post-COVID financial inflation. Regeneration has encountered a staggering rise in overhead expenses, nearly reaching a 200% increase. For instance, our average waste removal costs have surged from $42/month pre-inflation to $87/month, with additional fluctuating gas fees. This uptick reflects the broader challenges faced across all business expenses.
Joey and I have invested extensive hours into enhancing our facility, addressing weather-related issues, and rectifying any potential sources of additional expenses such as leaks and repair work, which we've managed ourselves. Notably, all our construction and facility updates were undertaken with prudent financial management, utilizing materials repurposed from the aftermath of the Flood of 2022.
Indeed, if you weren't aware, the original catalyst for these renovations was flooding beneath the office and the previous playroom flooring, caused by issues with the 3rd Place AC Unit. Despite facing circumstances beyond our control, we've strived to turn setbacks into opportunities, working within our means to create positive outcomes.
Our foremost objective has always been to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our members. While our current location meets these standards, the soaring overhead costs have necessitated a difficult decision.
With the increase in affiliate fees, will we keep our CrossFit affiliation?
While this isn't directly tied to our move, given the context of financial considerations behind our decision, I want to be fully transparent regarding this aspect as well.
Indeed, we will maintain our CrossFit affiliation. We're grateful to be part of the grandfathered affiliate members, benefiting from our long-standing relationship with CrossFit HQ (12 years) and non-associated WODify (7.5 years). This enduring connection has allowed us to access their most cost-effective fee structures. The CrossFit affiliation, along with access to The CrossFit Open, subsequent games, and the extensive resources provided by CrossFit HQ, holds immense value for our community.
If we are in good standing with CrossFit HQ, then why do we call ourselves just Regeneration, rather than CrossFit Regeneration?
Like any affiliation, Regeneration lacks direct control over CrossFit HQ's operations. While we maintain a two-way communication channel, we ultimately abide by CrossFit HQ's final decisions. Preserving our affiliate status is crucial, but Regeneration's sustainability hinges on autonomy and self-governance. Our foremost focus is our community, and no one understands its needs better than us. We've diligently portrayed this understanding in our name, logo, and public image.
Will the Jobs for Membership Credit Program transfer to the new location?
We absolutely adore our Jobs for Membership Credit Program! While it might undergo some adjustments, we're currently collaborating with Life Church KY to ascertain which common spaces can be part of this program in our new location. As with any move, establishing a new routine will take time, but we're thrilled to transition this program to our new space.

crossfitregeneration@gmail.com for further details.
What will the new class schedule be like?
We've outlined a tentative schedule for the upcoming year and our new location, with noteworthy adjustments to the youth program and evening classes.
At 5:00 PM, considering our class data from the past 12 months, our 4:30 PM class has emerged as the most popular. Consequently, we're adjusting our evening schedule to accommodate this trend. It's important to note that this change might not be permanent.
5 PM or 5:15 PM - Splitting the Difference...?
We've dedicated our afternoons to youth and women’s only programs and designated evenings for adult classes and open gym times. To maintain this separation, we're strongly considering shifting the 5 PM class to start at 5:15 PM. This adjustment ensures a clear division between our afternoon and evening classes and allows our staff an appropriate break.
WE NEED YOUR FEEDBACK RE: SCHEDULE CHANGES
Our goal is to make the best decisions that will accommodate the majority of our membership base. We can do that with data driven decisions. However, we cannot make a fully educated choice for our members without information from you. Your response and feedback on this subject would be both appreciated and considered in this decision. Email your schedule concerns to
crossfitregeneration@gmail.com
What are the changes listed on the Youth Program schedule?
In 2024, we're set to introduce changes to our Youth Program. Following the significant shift in 2023, where most of our kids graduated to the teens program, Coach Lydia and I are collaborating closely. We aim to create a more adaptable and transitional Youth Program, enabling a seamless transition to the subsequent stages of strength and individual growth as skills progress. Further details about this program adjustment will be unveiled in January 2024, as Coach Lydia and I finalize plans for an expanded version of our youth classes.
For current repeatability:
CrossFit Kids members are eligible to attend Novice class times.
CrossFit Teens members are eligible to attend Intermediate + Skill class times.
CrossFit Teens who have been given specific permission by Coach Lydia will be eligible to attend Expert Open Gym (for expert level youth athletes only) and/or co-mingle with the adult classes as outlined in the schedule.
